ok here is what I noticed on guild tour, I made to tee, but was shooting 2nd, first tee'er made his shot with 10 sec left on his clock, so 10 seconds into my shot I was booted. Maybe this helped. seems first tee shot can be made, so if 1st shooter can shoot in 20sec then I would then have 25 to make my shot, or otherwords both tee shots need to be made in 45 seconds for BOTH players :o

How many of the people disconnecting are using Fibre/Cable connection? As all of our guildies on Fibre/Cable have connection and disconnection problems.

Where as I have the old ADSL2 (I'm in the UK) and I do not get disconnected, or have connection problems at all.

I'm wondering if the SO servers, which might be old. Cannot handle the speed the packets of information is hitting them. And the servers think that the packets are missing, and auto kicks.

There is a possibility that the 1048 disconnection might have something to do with incompatibility issues between ShotOnline and certain anti-virus programs.

Today I used the works PC which has McAfee anti-virus installed on it and was persistently disconnected, not 1048 but a communication error, and when I use my own without any anti-virus I rarely now get any disconnection issues except with Guild Tour which I simply cannot access at all for some reason.

I seem to remember that when I was playing ShotOnline some years ago I had anti-virus installed, can't remember which, and was subjected to persistent dc's until I removed that and replaced with Microsoft's own free version which reduced the occurrences.

I now simply run behind a firewall and Windows Defender both published and maintained by Microsoft.

I am wondering if the solution to the problem could be purely to do with non-Microsoft products not being so compatible with ShotOnline and their servers, which probably incorporate many Microsoft products as well.

Right click on Shotonline icon, go to properties, click on compatibility, and the windows xp 2 jargon crap, and it will let you in

I have tried all suggested fixes and still crashes even standing in square doing nothing, It takes about 2-3 minutes and i am back at desktop. No error or anything it just closes back to desktop every 2-3 minutes i haven't timed it exactly but it is the same amount of time before it crashes every time. I left SO for a while and had to reinstall client and haven't been able to stay online since i did a fresh install after taking a vacation from game. I disabled antivirus as well doesn't make any difference.

simple CDT might be caused by game guard

You can try to delete game guard folder and let it update from scratch

I didn't dc . I just found the game nearly unplayble as everything is jumpy and lagging. I have a gaming computer and a 100mbs connection. And WOW runs fine. So it's not me.
